So I took out my laptop today after walking in the rain for a good 40 minutes total with my laptop in my bag. Got it out and wiped off a little damp spot on the top of the laptop and turned it on.
Once on, I noticed that Windows 8 says there is no audio device installed. I went to device manager to see if maybe it was a driver issue, and it only lists the Intel Display Audio, no SoundBlaster Recon 3Di like there should be.
Booted into ePSA diagnostics and tried to use the test sound option to see if that could play tones. Nothing played.
Could my sound card be fried from having the laptop a little damp? Is there a way to test this for sure? Am I overlooking something?
There is an ITS group on campus (im a student at Case Western Reserve University) that apparently could fix it, but is this within my warranty? I got the best warranty for 3 years, so in theory stuff like this should be covered, right? If not, how should I contact Dell to get this sorted out?
