I have had this Aurora for almost 2 years (it's my third and the others are still doing fine) but recently it just starts freezing. No rhyme or reason and during randomly different programs. For instance I streamed a movie, then played my MMORPG for an hour or so and everything was fine. I finished those, opened Firefox and blam -- everything froze. Windows background screen was there but no icons, no mouse cursor, no nothing. Totally unresponsive. Waited for 30 minutes or so and finally had to unplug it to get it to shut down. Upon restart, windows kept looping back to 1) Start Windows normally or 2) Launch repair. Tried both of these but no luck. I finally took it to a friend of mine who runs a computer repair place and he restored the registry and it booted. He ran hardware and software diagnostics and everything checked out fine. I took it home where is ran for about 2 hours and then everything froze again. Took it back and he did the same procedure and got it to boot again. Overnight he tried to duplicate the problem by running games, movies, a dozen internet windows, etc. Ran fine all night. I have sold state drives and I am hooked up to an APC 1500 Pro UPS (same age as PC). He told me it could be the UPS. I am wondering about that and the solid state drives. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
