Capped HDMI Port

Hi Guys, 

Just got my new X51, The HDMI port on the graphics card itself was capped, and the integrated port was open.  When i try and use the Nvidia Control Panel its tells me " You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU"  Should I just remove the cap and use the port on the card itself?
